LIZ SPAYD recently held the position of public editor of The New York Times. Most of her career was spent at The Washington Post, where, while national editor, her staff won four Pulitzer Prizes, including for its coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attack. After leaving The Post in 2013, she became editor and publisher of The Columbia Journalism Review.
